Your guide meets you right at the gangway. A short walk brings you to your private, air‑conditioned vehicle. Cold water is provided. The drive into Saigon is smooth and comfortable, with your guide giving a simple overview of the city.
Begin your journey in a quiet Buddhist enclave tucked away from the city’s rush. Here, elderly caretakers tend to altars, incense coils burn slowly in the morning light, and centuries‑old rituals continue unchanged. This peaceful village offers a rare window into the spiritual traditions of the Chinese‑Vietnamese community.
Continue to the beating heart of Cho Lon’s commerce. Wander through Binh Tay’s spacious courtyards and maze‑like corridors as your guide explains how traders from across Vietnam come here at dawn to source everything from spices to textiles. It’s energetic, colorful, and deeply rooted in daily life.
Step into the aromatic world of traditional medicine. These narrow lanes are lined with wooden drawers, dried roots, rare herbs, and tonics prepared using ancient Chinese healing methods. Your guide helps decode the remedies and their cultural significance.
Walk through one of the oldest trading areas in the region, where generations of merchants have built a community around commerce, craftsmanship, and shared heritage. The architecture, signage, and atmosphere reflect a Chinatown that has endured for centuries.
Arrive at one of Cho Lon’s most beautiful temples, dedicated to Ong Bon — the guardian of merchants. Admire its red pillars, carved dragons, incense coils, and intricate altars. This is the spiritual centerpiece of Chinatown and a highlight for culture lovers.
End your experience with a refreshing coconut coffee at Cong Café, a beloved Vietnamese brand known for its nostalgic wartime décor and creamy signature drinks. It’s the perfect moment to relax, cool down, and reflect on the stories of Chinatown.
Relax on the drive back. Your guide ensures you return to the gangway on time.
